Had one Iof the worst experience of my life. I had not had my boosters and I was not allowed out of my room for 17 days. No shower therapy nothing. They are short handed. Don't get me started on the food mystery meat I would not want my worst enemy to endure what I did the left hand doesn't know what right is doing.

This place should be non existent after the way they have done my dad. Also good luck getting ahold of any nurse on either floor in the facility. This facility NEEDS TO BE SHUTDOWN.

My mom was transferred yesterday to Morning view for the 3rd time. Just so everyone knows my mom is in her right mind she just needs therapy to walk after she fell and broke her knee in 3 places and a ride was put in her leg. 1st 2 times she was here for therapy they only showed her how to transfer from her wheelchair to the bed on a board. The second time she was at MV the lady sharing the room with my mom was mean to my mom and always telling me that I need to leave and leave my mom alone cause she was their to get away from her family. Yep I finally got rude and told the lady to shut up and mind her own business and maybe she was their to give her family a break from her. Rude nuse came in in a hurry for that but when I asked the nurse why my mom was still waiting for her nurse to help her to the bathroom she studdered and said she was busy. But If my mom refused therapy the nurses and therapist was happy they never encourage her to do anything. The nurses was very rude and made my mom lay in a dirty bed for hours and told me they only got a shower once a week. I think all patients should have a shower at least every other day. I have walked in the last 2 times and seen nurses yelling at patients and I always tell my mom I don't care where you are at if anyone starts yelling at you stay calm and call me I will be their. If I ever catch the nurses yelling at my mom I will punch them right their. I could tell you so much about this place

My dad was here for a month after several complications from surgery which hospitalized him. Almost the entire staff was excellent. Right now, they are overworked just like the rest of the healthcare industry but for many, you couldn't tell because they were so cheerful and helpful. I've read complaints in the reviews that people were sent home who refused therapy, as it should be. Those sent to transitional care are there because they need therapy to return to their everyday lives. Anyone there expecting to be waited on and don't do therapy are taking up bed space from those who truly want to improved and become independent. My dad improved so much, the therapists were excellent and knew how to motivate him. I saw too many patients who did not have visitors and it's very sad because emotional support from family members can make a huge difference in one's recovery. A few opportunities for improvement at TCC: my dad had to have a transfusion and I wanted actual blood lab numbers rather than relying on the fact that someone did indeed look at lab results and his numbers were improving. It was crazy hard getting lab results and I never did get his last numbers despite asking about 8 times over a 5 day period before his release. The communication with family members on lab results could be improved. The other area was order protocol. My dad had his in-dwelling catheter removed by his urologist while still a patient at TCC. About midnight he once again was unable to urinate and was in extreme pain. There is a doctor on staff but instead of contacting the staff doctor or letting common sense prevail, they kept him in pain until his urologist office opened at 8am and they received the order to put the catheter back in. If it weren't for the struggle with getting lab results and not re-catheterizing him when he couldn't urinate, I would have given them 5 stars. We turned in 10 nominations for the Gem award which is amazing for a subset of an industry that you usually hear complaints about. I would certainly trust Blount County TCC for any other family members including myself. The social worker was fantastic, always upbeat, helping us navigate Medicare since we have never been through this before and every Physical/Occupational Therapists was awesome and truly vested in getting my dad back to being independent as well as the rest of the staff. In fact on his day of release, every staff member that had worked with my dad came by to say goodbye and wish him well. Thank you TCC at Morning View Village, you were exactly what my dad needed.
