I am very disappointed with Plato’s Closet. I’ve been there twice and brought in good brands like Ivvia, American Eagle, Abercrombie, and they didn’t accept anything.

Arrived at Platos with around 7 items, including coats and some blouses with tags still on. I figured they would accept the coats considering it is August and fall is around the corner. Staff told me I needed to bring clothing items in a bin, not a garbage bag. Okay, I'm going to admit that got me a little aggravated but I just went to ACE Hardware down the street and bought one. They finally accept the items and I wait an hour and a half until I received the text message that they were done. When I get back the store, employee tells me I need to wait in line with everyone. It was a Saturday, so the line was down the aisle to the back of the store. I wait 15 minutes in line before reaching the counter when the employee notified me that they only accepted two items out of the 7. Seriously? I got 8 dollars that day for a dress I found at a thrift store and another dress from target. All the other items brand new with tags were not excepted. Seems like I wasted two hours of my time. I do not recommend donating here!

My daughter and her friends just discovered Plato’s Closet. We don’t live in the area but came from out of town for an event and decided to stop in. While I think $50 for used Lululemon still seems like a lot, we got some really good deals (two hoodies and two shirts for $30). The reason I’m writing this review though is to comment on the staff. The workers were amazing, they were kind and talking to the customers, sharing stories, explaining things extremely well and were so respectful. I’ve never been to a Plato’s Closet where I’ve been so impressed by the staff and how friendly they are. Based on that alone, we will be back when we are in the area!

Yes we buy gently used clothing for cash! We look for current styles (sold in stores within the last year). We base the clothing on style, demand, and condition, no holes, broken zippers, stains, etc. We buy clothing for teen and young adults, shoes, sandals, dresses, shorts, athletic wear, accessories and more. No appt necessary, just bring your items in a shopping bag with handles, no garbage bags please. Store hours: Mon-Sat 10am to 9pm, Sundays noon to 5pm. Hope to see you soon!
Unfortunately we don't. We buy casual cocktail dresses, summer dresses, sweater dresses, but nothing too formal. Last I heard there is a place called secret closet in romeo, not sure if that's accurate. Hope this helps.
Actually we do! We are currently purchasing sizes 16 thru 24! We are a gently used resale store and if it meets our criteria, no stains, no holes (unless it's distressed - new) we will offer you cash for those items. We purchase items that have recently been sold in stores 18 months prior. So gather up your items, bring in freshly laundered in a clothes basket and let us make an offer. Yes, we take teen and young adult clothes starting with gals 00-24 waist size, and guys 28-40 waist. xs to xxx tops. We buy only current styles that have been in stores as recently in the last 18 months and we give you cash for anything we can purchase.
