Does the airport have tornado shelter available for surrounding residents?

It has a basement, but that's about it. Building is locked after hours and on weekends. I wouldn't count on it for a tornado shelter.

There are no commercial flights into Trinidad. Pueblo CO. would be the closest airport for commercial flights. We fly a Corporate jet into Trinidad.

The nearest airport that flies commercial but with very limited flights in north about an hour and ten minutes in Pueblo colorado. About 2 hours and 25 minutes north is colorado springs and they have a lot more commercial flights out of there. Our little airport is in the middle of nowhere and we dont di any commercial flights. We have an airport and we have aviation fuel, but people just land and takeoff from here or land and stay the night in town. But as far as commercial flights, we have none. Hope this helps. Wesley L. The airport manager allowed us to use his truck when we landed there. The Italian restaurant in town is great, with singing wait staff.
