Beautiful spot, neat location and great meat choices. It is a ton of food! Me and my husband ended up sharing a full rack of buffalo ribs and had our own veggies, bread and salad. Service was phenomenal. Prices are a bit steep and I feel that is the reason for the lost star. It is definitely a special occasion restaurant.

Nothing to complain about the place. The staff were polite and professional. I went solo and ordered the game plate and 3 other side dishes. To give an example of the quality of the food, let's look at the mundane potato wedges served with the entree: the potatoes were cooked to the right tenderness. They had very rich sweet corn flavor even though there was not a kernel of corn served in the plate. You can also order the books about the restaurant and or the recipes of the food served. I was reading "eat up the Santa fe trail", learning the stories behind the restaurant, the history of the wild west cuisine while enjoying the restaurant's take on these historic western game foods.

We were entertaining and our guests wanted to eat some western game…so we went to The Fort. Even though we live a stones throw, we had never gone. The Fort is the place we had hoped it was. Full of charm, detailed service, and delicious food and cocktail. The view was gorgeous as well. It delivered on every level and we will certainly be inviting other guests as an excuse to transport back in time for a refined-western meal.

This place was a beautiful place to go visit in it's very upscale and the architecture is out of this world it is very beautiful and has great views. The it was. The menu is very authentic and stays true to its roots I would highly recommend going to this place for the atmosphere alone. This period the staff is very friendly and takes care of their customers. The waiter was able to explain every dish it's a dish in great detail and make great recommendations for the whole table. I would always love to recommend the Fort and I will always come back for their great great food and love.

$150 to include dinner, wine, and tip
Starting Summer 2020, the outside dining area will serve the bbq menu for lunch on weekends
6,100 ft, it's in the foot hills near Morrison,CO and Redrocks.
Just call them and cancel, I made my reservation through OpenTable and three days before they asked me if I wanted to cancel or control
Best thing to do would be calling the restaurant. Happy birthday!
We always budget $75-$125 per person
$100 for 2 people. Within 30 min. Of Indian Hills
I wore clean jeans and an inexpensive button down shirt
I totally support, but heavy shedding animals are not so easy to support in an eating establishment.
Thank you James. That gives me the generational period I was looking for. I thought it had been around a lot longer than that.
Yes i would absolutely get reservations if thete are two or more
I would call them and ask. Probably Turkey, quail, rustic veggies.
It's Colorado. So yes that's probably fine for lunch. Nice jeans might be better for dinner.
They have GF options for almost everything. My wife is GF and had no problem.
They have a self-guided tour called "A Hearty Welcome" that you can ask the Hostess for!
The Fort is such a wonderful place, both for consumers and employees. The dream is that everyone experience it, at least once, and what a better way than with a gift card? What a wonderful gift to give someone. Not just great food but also a great environment and atmosphere!
According to their website the restaurant opened in February of 1963.
We had a birthday party there last Friday and we had a great table. We made reservation. Table was around the corner from the women's restroom and it was absolutely fine.
From what i understand, Christmas Eve they are open, Christmas day they are closed.
The Fort does have a helipad (for over 15 years) and numerous companies who are registered to fly guests here. Please give them a call, for further information!
CLOSED Merry Christmas!!
There is no dress code. I saw people wearing a range of styles (suits, evening dresses, jeans, and t shirts) at The Fort.
Kitchen closes after the last-seated table has received their dinner, usually 20-40 minutes after seating. Reservations are closed at different times based on traffic during that time of year. Walk-ins after the kitchen has closed based on the reservation will not be seated.
