Delicious sandwiches (and more)in a funky building in a tiny Texas town. I had the pulled pork and my companion had a burger and we both thought they were remarkably yummy with layers of seasonings and sauces and hot off the grill. I watched them cooking for a minute and the broiled fish with green beans and potatoes looked like a work of art. So here’s how to order, because it’s not obvious. There’s a counter inside. The menus are printed on plain paper and stapled together on a shelf to the right of the counter. Don’t expect to be offered sides or drinks so figure that out before you order. They will call your name but you won’t hear it if you are outside, so it won’t hurt to check inside every few minutes. We bonded with our fellow diners over helping each other know whose food was up when. I’ve driven through this town a hundred times and never stopped but after today I will plan my travels to include a meal at the Hye Market Eatery!
