Very fun easy convenient! Costs 25$ (cash only) to rent a tube, use facilities, and get the bus back to the starting point. Took 3 hours to flow down the river. They do have signs posted before starting estimated time down the river, which was very accurate. And water and air temperature. Lots of geese in the river! A few ducks! And be prepared to be utterly tired after your relaxing river ride and take a nap! You will get stuck sometimes but the rivers not deep and you can push yourself out of spots.

The drought we've had made it take a lot longer than expected (4 hours), and we kept bumping the bottom of the river, so we'd have to get out and walk the tube to another area with more water. I know we can't control the weather, but when we did this a few years ago and the river was full, it was more fun. There were also people in their own private tubes (not from the Farmington River Tubing launch) smoking and drinking while riding. This made it less enjoyable. The smoke was thick in some areas, and when the tubes were moving as slowly as they were, it was hard to escape. At 4 hours long, my kids needed to use the bathroom during the trip, and what are kids going to do without a bathroom for 4 hours? We had to pull over the tubes to go in the woods. This was embarrassing for the kids, even though we hid them out of sight. Also, once we reached the end and waited for the bus ride back, there was no porta-potty available (they explained that vandals kept throwing the outhouse into the river so they had to get rid of it), so anyone who manages to make it that long has to wait even longer. Aside from those things, though, it's a fun trip down the river and the area with slight falls are exciting. It's definitely nicer when the river is full, and even better without people clogging the air with smoke. My recommendation is don't room things for others by tossing property into the river, be considerate if you must ride intoxicated, and go when the river is full so you're not stuck on rocks all day.

My wife and I really liked this tubing adventure! We went in early August and the river was perfect! The rapids weren't too fast , the water temp was warm but still refreshing and the views were very cool 😎 If you want a relaxing but fun filled day then the Farmington River Tubing is where it's at !

The business "Farmington river tubing" is closed until next year(2021). However, the river is not. Buy your own tubes and bring your dog, cat, goat or neighbour and enjoy yourself.

It could be if you are not good at balance or fall off. There are a few small rapids you get wet. Personally I would do it depending how I was feeling that day and how far into the pregnancy I was.

I wouldn't go barefoot. Old sneakers or surf shoes are best.

Always call the day you are coming for hours, times, conditions. Days, hours, times, subject to change without notice. The daily hours do change depending on many factors including but not limited to; weather conditions, river conditions, and the time of year. The daily hours are the earliest and latest times you can enter the river to start. There are no exceptions. Allow yourself enough travel time to get here with enough time to sign up, pay, and start by the designated latest start time.
