Volunteers available to provide assistance with your research. Also, in addition to photocopiers, there is equipment to transfer your family movies from VHS to DVD and audio cassette to current media. There is a special room equipped to record your calls to family members to get their voices on tape. And more!

Simply amazing!

I really enjoyed my experience. I went wanting to learn more about my calling. I learned a lot more than I expected and the leaders were well informed and patient. I recommend everyone in a family history calling attend!

The posted hours are until 9 pm, but, they push us to leave starting at about 8:40. One of the workers said, "We have been here longer than you." Seemed like a passive aggressive way to say something. They turned off the lights, and as we were walking out, we saw one poor patron was literally sitting in the dark at a computer. They really need to update their hours to indicate that it closes at 8:45 pm.

The Layton Family Search Center is open from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. It is also open on Saturdays. Perhaps you would like to bring your family at these times. Temples are closed on Mondays. The center is open on Mondays until five p.m. Staff members are also requested to be with their families on Monday nights. I think that you are in my ward, perhaps we can explain it in more detail next Sunday.
You should go to the website link. There is a tab that says photoscanners, click on that and it will take you to a page with a link to a Google spreadsheet where you can see what is open. Then you fill out a reservation form from that page and it will save your time slot.
Go to the website. Click on photo scanners on the right hand side. This will take you to a new page. At the top of that page there is a link to a google spreadsheet. Click on that. Then choose the month tab at the bottom of the spreadsheet. Find your available time and click on reserve. This will show you another link which takes you to a form that you can fill out. It will ask for your name, phone number, email and what time you want the appointment for. Then submit and it will email you a confirmation.

Yes. Check schedule and sign up on website. Or just go in and ask for help to get started. You don't learn to swim in a classroom. Indexing is easy and gets easier with practice.
You can find all classes offered at the Family History Search Center, go to the site and check on classes. Too many go remember and I wouldn't want to miss the one you might be interested in.
Just call the center and they will schedule you.
Yes, Monday, Thursday and Friday between 9 and 3. Tuesday and Wednesday between 3 PM and 9 PM.
Here is the link to their website and hours: https://www.familysearch.org/wiki/en/Layton_Utah_FamilySearch_Center#_blank
Church policy is to allow Monday nights for family home evening. In order for you to do FHE here you would be taking people away from their families which is why the temple and all other church buildings are closed on Monday evenings.
Yes, they are open starting today at 9:00 a.m. local time, and will be on their regular schedule the rest of the week.
You will need to bring the film and something to copy the digital copy to, like a flash drive. The rest of the equipment is there, and staff is great to help.
No the center is closed Wednesday thru Sunday. Reopening Monday. Thanks
Call the center and make an appointment. They will tell you what you need to bring. They have some wonderful ways to help you get your VHS tapes digital.
