Called for a welfare check on my daughter. The PD sent officers but no one ever informed us of the status. I called back to dispatch to check on the status 90 minutes or so after initial call but was told only that officers were en route. 3 hours after the initial call we heard from our daughter. A few days later we find out that she had attempted suicide on the day that prompted the call. I'm not familiar with exact protocol for PD operations but I do think if I had a desperate parent calling from out of state informing me of a possible suicide that I would let that parent know their child was safe as soon as I could. I know public service jobs are often thankless and can be extremely hectic but seems like Orem PD could have done better. The next attempt child be the last...

The worst department of all time. I was assaulted and they did nothing. You call to make a report and they try to charge you with the assault and an unjust charge. I paid thousands to a lawyer to contest the charge. Orem cops are so crooked. Don't ever call them unless YOU want a charge too! Even if you are innocent or the victim.

Called at 10:50 pm on Labor Day about the possibility of sending an officer to disperse a very loud crowd at my apartment complex. Dispatch told me to call apartment management.... which isn't available after hours. Strange, since I've had cops called on me for talking too loudly at an apartment complex once and also have called on neighbors that were doing karaoke late at night once, so I know that's a thing police do...? Probably too busy giving out traffic tickets. After all, noise complaints don't produce revenue. Still being loud at 11:05. Oh well, who has to work tomorrow? Certainly none of the people whose apartment surrounds this pool, on which the talking and crying children's screams are echoing off.
