An unassuming small building at first glance, but everything changes when you enter. The display of delectable pastries and aroma of egg, nuts, fruits and coffee fill your nostrils and heighten your hunger. I chose the Latte with Whole Milk and the Bacon, Egg, and Cheese Croissant. I was very happy with finding the Pine Island Getaway Cafe this morning!

Pine Island Getaway Cafe is a small french bistro in the middle of a warehouse-like district as you are driving to it. It's a small, brightly painted building with a patio overlooking a small body of water and plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. We stopped by on our way off of North Captiva Island for lunch. My husband and I split a chicken salad croissant (very buttery and fresh) and had a lemon tart and a chocolate tart - both rich and refreshing with a great cookie-like crust. It's honeslty one of the best tart crust I have had - most are very bland and like pie crust - but not these. The crust was like a really good graham cracker crust but I don't think it was graham cracker. Regardless - this is a great place and has super tasty treats.

REAL French bakery by 2 brothers who trained there. Would give more than 5 stars if possible. After 1 of their croissants, you will be spoiled forever and never buy a supermarket croissant again. You'll make do with toast rather than suffer through a mediocre barely-recognizable substitute. They offer decadent pastries and breakfast and lunch entrees like sandwiches, paninis & quiches. The best addition to Pine Island in a long time.

Both of tuna croissant sandwich and lamb gyro was really tasty and fresh. One thing I was disappointed was that there weren’t many selections in stock. I wanted some more small cakes but there weren’t any other than tiramisu. Very popular and parking isn’t big but enough space since people come pick up their food to go. Enough seatings for quick lunch and teas. Very clean and well kept. Restroom was also very clean.
