The staff there is very kind & you can tell how much they love the animals. Every animal in their care is well taken care of - including vet care, spay/neuter, vaccines & microchip. They try their best to get strays back to their owners (unless they shouldn't go back) & they're very respectful to all of their customers.

Great place to adopt your next furry friend. The people there are amazing and care so much about the well being of all the animals.

I took my kitten here & they were wonderful caring loving girls. They helped me tremendously. Very clean and welcoming place. I felt. So at peace having my pet Jasper there. I know he'll be adopted soon. Miss you Buddy🐾🐾

I called a couple months ago for info about getting some stray kittens fixed. Left a message. Never called me back. I called last week when my 13 yr. old husky passed away to see if they still had disposal services. Left a message. Never called me back.

Hi Patricia. Little Valentine actually went to her new home last week. However, we have a lot of other great dogs (like Tucker!). The first step in our process is to complete an adoption application on our website. Once approved we can set up a meet & greet with any or all dogs. If there is a connection, you can take them home the same day. The application does not obligate you to anything. It will stay active on file for 6 months. Thank you for your interest in adopting!
Hi Cheryl. Unfortunately we cannot take meds from individuals. But thank you so much for thinking of us.
Good morning Barb. Yes, we employ the only Humane Agent for Defiance County. She investigates cases related to abuse, neglect, or abandonment. Our agent is off today, but you can call the office at 419-658-2298 between noon and 5 pm so we can get some necessary information from you and get the call logged into our system. Thank you.
Hi Tina. We would recommend Pawsible Angels in Findlay Ohio. We've worked with them before. It's a great organization. https://www.pawsibleangels.org/
U have to be 18 and if u meet that ask for Stacy. She is the manager.
They do but is not monthly you would have to give them a call. But not sure if they do it there or not.
Yes, I do know you have to be at less 18 years of age. I believe you have to fill out some paperwork.
The fort defiance is open on weekends for appointments only for people who are seriously interested in adopting. If you have an application or an animal you are interested in adopting they will make appointments with you and the animal.
I believe to adopt a dog it is around 150.
The shelter told me that they do not accept cats. The county animal will not help will cats. I was told not to feed the cats and they would leave me area. I have a problems with people dumping cats off .
Humane Ohio in Toledo
Friends of felines is not accepting cats. I have tried several times due to people dumping cats off in my area.
