The staff there is very kind & you can tell how much they love the animals. Every animal in their care is well taken care of - including vet care, spay/neuter, vaccines & microchip. They try their best to get strays back to their owners (unless they shouldn't go back) & they're very respectful to all of their customers.

I took my kitten here & they were wonderful caring loving girls. They helped me tremendously. Very clean and welcoming place. I felt. So at peace having my pet Jasper there. I know he'll be adopted soon. Miss you Buddy🐾🐾

I called a couple months ago for info about getting some stray kittens fixed. Left a message. Never called me back. I called last week when my 13 yr. old husky passed away to see if they still had disposal services. Left a message. Never called me back.

What's the price to take in little Valentine. Patricia Whitcomb from Novi Michigan. I have lived with at least one dog my whole life. Never had any problem training them. I had amazing dog connections.I will phone you. post

Hi Patricia. Little Valentine actually went to her new home last week. However, we have a lot of other great dogs (like Tucker!). The first step in our process is to complete an adoption application on our website. Once approved we can set up a meet & greet with any or all dogs. If there is a connection, you can take them home the same day. The application does not obligate you to anything. It will stay active on file for 6 months. Thank you for your interest in adopting!

Does your facility accept unused medications for dogs that are no longer needed, I have two vials of unopened vetsulin, syringes, and almost a full bottle of Dasaquin Thanks

Hi Cheryl. Unfortunately we cannot take meds from individuals. But thank you so much for thinking of us.

Do you investigate cases of dog neglect!???

Barb Vanhouten | Nov 29, 2021

Good morning Barb. Yes, we employ the only Humane Agent for Defiance County. She investigates cases related to abuse, neglect, or abandonment. Our agent is off today, but you can call the office at 419-658-2298 between noon and 5 pm so we can get some necessary information from you and get the call logged into our system. Thank you.

Hi Tina. We would recommend Pawsible Angels in Findlay Ohio. We've worked with them before. It's a great organization. https://www.pawsibleangels.org/

Yes, I do know you have to be at less 18 years of age. I believe you have to fill out some paperwork.

Why are they closed on the weekends? I mean, that's when most people have time to go look for a pet to adopt.

The fort defiance is open on weekends for appointments only for people who are seriously interested in adopting. If you have an application or an animal you are interested in adopting they will make appointments with you and the animal.
