FAIT FAMILY EYEWEAR CENTER is substandard. The staff is lazy, rude and unprofessional. Moreover, the service center is tawdry. They lied and upcharged me for a pair of glasses that came back Thick and Bulky. Do NOT buy eyewear from the Eyewear Store. Illinois Eye Institute must fire them.

The medical students conducting the exam were great. However, the staff working the front desk are terrible. I told them that I needed contact lenses, and I specifically asked them for contact lenses 5 times. The person at the front desk told me that I need to do a "comprehensive eye exam", I only wanted to have my vision measured, not a complete health check. They told me that an eye exam was the exam to gauge my eyesight. Going into the exam, they wouldn't give me my prescription without finishing the entire exam (includes checking the health of my eyes, etc). I felt like I was a guanine pig for the students because their doctor was explaining and showing them stuff, as he was doing the exact same thing that they did (Had to also wait for a while for him to come into the room to validate the tests that his students did). I spent 2 hours for them to tell me that my eyes were fine.No shocker there. However, when it came down to the contact lenses, it turns out that I need to reschedule an appointment with another department, lone and behold "our next appointment is in a month", wow. Wasted 2 hours of my life for no apparent reason, I should've gone to a proper doctor, instead of students, and I should've just gone to an eye apparel store instead of this trash clinic, where they misspell all your information, mislead you about the services, don't allow you to leave until they've charged you for way more than you asked, and the best part, "Come back in a month!". Never coming here again.

Not sure but they do except credit cards
They do accept cash but most insurance companies include and cover one pair of "eye glasses" the "full exam" & "proscribed medications" such as "special eye drops & eye solutions" I wear contact lenses and Most insurance companies Don't cover contacts. I go for the exam and medication. They uave a special for eye glasses and includes the exam for 70.00. They also have a free program for people w/diabetes...includes full eye exam a fitting. Plus, the whole Institute offers a 24 hour emergency services 7 days a week for all patiens. It's a really great Eye Institute, I've been going there for over 30 years.

They do provide glasses, yes. The amount of time it takes kind of varies based on your needs. Assuming you only need standard reading glasses you may be able to get them the same day. My contacts took several weeks to obtain. They are extremely specific and required shipping to an external lab.
I'm sure they can work with you.
I'm pretty sure you need to make an appointment.
