My father stayed for 2.5 weeks for rehab after a hip fracture. We had an overall good experience at this facility. He needed extra care due to his dementia and we had a bad experience at another rehab facility in the area the prior year, mainly due to the dementia, so expectations were pretty low. The facility is a bit older but still clean. He had a large private room, but the hallways were loud and bright all night. Meals were not always on time and didn't usually look appetizing, but he didn't mind. His initial transfer from the hospital was rushed and it seemed they weren't expecting him, so not a good first impression. Several of the staff were wonderful with our family, especially with my mom (who can be difficult), especially nurse Aretha, but like all places like this, there are others there who should have no business caring for patients. My dad didn't participate in any activities or offerings on the assisted living side, but we felt that our interactions with his care team were adequate and helpful for the most part. We never saw or met the doctor.

Activities helped me out a lot when I had nothing they made sure I had clothes and gave me things for my room. I was very happy with my services in Great lakes Healthcare back in January. I miss all the people who helped me along the way become a better person.. thank you to April joy Michelle and Emma for being always kind. Social services for always helping me too...

I'll never get over how poorly this place treated my mom. Wasn't feeding her properly, wasn't hydrating her properly, didn't even check on her to make sure she was okay nor gave her privacy. No matter how many times I called they wouldn't let me speak to my mom. She was always "sleeping" and nurses were always "making their rounds". My mom slipped into a diabetic coma in a matter of days because of how poorly she was cared for. No one knew until a family member went to check on her which was after they already took her to a hospital without notifying our family. She passed not even a month after leaving this place. They do not care for your loved ones. Please keep them away from here.
