I called to set up transportation, I specifically stated I needed a van, they arrived late and in a Prius, they had to call another driver to come with a van, this caused me to arrive late at an important appointment. I called the office, they did not apologize, nor did they offer any adjustment. They have very poor customer service, avoid using this service if you need to arrive on time. On a positive note, both drivers I had to and from were very kind.

Was almost hit by their driver doing an illegal u turn on a 4 lane road in construction. I called to turn the driver in and the person who answered the phone was rude, yelled at me for chasing them down to give the vehicle information AND hung up on me twice. I wouldn't want this company transporting any of my family members who needed transportation with poor health. They don't care about customers or their community that their drivers are representing their company. And ride staff supposedly in an authorities position that want to hang up on a customer or citizen calling in with concern for clients. Dad dad excuse in customer service on both ends.

Joy Ride provides private pay transportation to medical appointments and for lifestyle trips. Joy Ride does not bill health insurance policies or Medicare. Joy Ride does provide transportation for members with Medicaid, but they need to reserve their medical trips directly with their Medicaid insurance provider and ask that Joy Ride be their preferred provider. Thank you for your interest in Joy Ride Transport's personalized, compassionate and dependable door-to-door non-emergency transportation services. We primarily operate between 6am and 6pm Monday through Friday, we have some availability on weekends but it can be very limited. We do a flat rate for transportation within Polk County. The one-way trip rate is $40 with a round trip being $80. There is an additional $10 charge for trips after hours (6PM - 6AM) and weekends. Trips outside of Polk County are quoted on a per-trip basis. We do ask for at least 24-hours notice when scheduling such appointments, otherwise it may be difficult for us to accommodate the request. You will have to call, that would have to have pre arrangements. I am not sure they can accommodate this. They are great, just call them.

Yes there is a fee. For non-emergency medical transportation the Iowa MCO will pay the fee for you ( if you have a co-pay then that would be your fee) If your services are thru the county then there is no out of pocket cost. I do not know what a private pay fee would be.
