I'm giving Southgate 3 stars but I would really love to give them is 3.5 as I feel like that's the most accurate for these apartments as they are just alright. First the good: 1)rent is cheap compared to a lot of other places in Greenville. These apartments were a nice middle ground when I first moved in. The price hikes that have happened are insane but that's been happening everywhere so not much to do about that. 2) the area is great. Right down the road from the mall, great restaurants, the stadium, a bunch of grocery stores, and near some great neighborhoods with low crime. The building surrounding me haven't had anyone who really caused any headache. 3) management is pretty responsive as it maintenance. 4) the ammenties are pretty nice like the pool and gym. Now for the bad: 1) these apartments are designed terribly and there's really no fixing that. Odd shaped cabinets, weird shaped livinging rooms, no overhead lighting, having to open the fridge to pull open some drawers. It's a NIGHTMARE. Also my unit gets almost NO natural light so it feels like a prison. 2) they're old and and it's obvious which means more likelihood of problems like with AC or if you have the old appliances, God help you because they are terrible. 3) although maintenance is responsive they prefer quick fixes like adding more freeon to the AC unit when it goes out once a summer... 4) although I did say the price was ok for what the apartments are... The prices keep going up and I don't know how they can justify a 1 bedroom flat for almost $1,000 when their sister apartments (the Madison) are only a couple hundred dollars more for WAY nicer apartments.

All of the employees are great and helpful any time I’ve had any questions or complaints. Service technicians have been fast and clean as well. Loving it here so far!

We require a 60-day written notice, which you are responsible for, prior to move-out. If you need to move out at the end of your lease term, please remember to come in 60 days prior to the lease expiring to provide your written notice.
If you love our apartments and your friend wants to move to Southgate, please let our office know! However, we do not have a resident referral program.
Yes, if the lease buy-out fee has been paid. A 60-day notice is required before vacating your apartment. Please make sure that you reference your signed lease agreement and confirm policies with your Property Manager as there could be unique circumstances.
