Superman Statue

The statue is always open you can just park on the square and walk up to it.

Yes. The tornado largely did not effect the Metropolis/Paducah area. The worst of the damage was to the south and west of this area.

Nope. Gotham is sort of Jersey City. They've very close to one another but Metropolis is the international hub, and Gotham is the mob run crime pit.

The film was shot in New York and Smallville scenes in Alberta Canada. Anyone who said the movie was filmed here (Allen de normandie) has no idea what they are talking about.

There is no parking LOT right at the statue. Superman stands at the old courthouse in the town square. There is parking for cars all around the square. HOWEVER, to Superman's right is a bank with parking. Hardee's has parking and to his left on 7th street across from fire department is Sav-a-Lot, which has a good sized lot. That lot is a few blocks away, but you will get to pass some Superman related items along the way, like the Superman museum.
