The staff were very polite and fast for me. The food was great. The afternoon is the best time when it's not busy.
Its open, including the enclosed paved in area with ceiling fans and tv is open. Was just there 2 days ago. I asked about it since there were people eating in there. That area is considered the patio they said so it was nice to sit down and eat it. They also allowed refills / by giving you a new cup. So it was great. A good in between I'd say. Tables were spread out. With signs saying bust your own table afterwards.
Sounds like they may be having personel problems like some many restaurants.Unfortunately Hattie B's is a lot less structured and codified than,say a McDonalds!
They have chicken and waffles on Sundays only... That is the closest thing to a brunch they have.,
There are three locations, if you want the Charlotte Ave location, it is exit 205 off I-40. If you want the 19th location - closest to downtown, take exit 209 - go away from downtown to get to 19th.
