I haven’t even made it in to the store and already am completely turned off. The woman who answered when I called about a plumbing question basically told me to “come in and say exactly what you just said so we can help you” and her curt attitude made me just go to a Home Depot instead. She did not seem as if she wanted to assist me at all and therefore lost a customer before I ever came in. As someone new to the area I wanted to try and shop with a local smaller business first. I’ll probably never step foot in there now.

This is my go to place for hardware. I have had some odd requests for specific bolts, screws, spacers, and other components needed for household repairs and woodworking projects. Every person there is friendly and professional. If they are not sure what you need, they ask you and talk about what you want. I often find an easier way to do things and have saved money with their suggestions. They have a good supply of items particularly needed to maintain homes in this area. They also have tools and other supplies that I need. Southside Hardware is a hidden gem!

What a great general hardware store! It is family owned and operated, and don't worry about it being small, because they have everything you could be hoping to find ... from fuses to toilet seats to electrical supplies, and so much more. All of the family members make a point of personally helping to find exactly what you are looking for, and can answer any questions you have about the item ... maybe even some you didn't think to ask! Enjoy! This is old-fashioned personal service at its best.
