Bright Leaf Hot Dogs are "red" because a red hot dog is a southern tradition. We were the first red hot dog in North Carolina because when folks bought our hot dogs, we wanted then to see us as a true southern old fashioned hot dog that is different from the rest. The red color is made by the same coloring that makes red velvet cake, cereal, candy and many sports drinks red.

Yes, Bright Leaf Hot Dogs can be frozen. After you open up the bag, take whatever hot dogs you need, take the rest of the hot dogs, put them in a Ziploc bag, and put them in the freezer.
