Took laptop from broken hinge. Used it at work all day. Shop had it for over 2 weeks. States some chip on the motherboard or processing board is not working and it is proprietary so they can only replace the whole board. Now I know electronics can break at anytime, but it just seems too coincidental that it broke while there. Technician stated that since they did not turn it on when i dropped it off they have no way to show it worked before I brought it in. It's convenient that they didn't check it. So pay $350 to fix or scrap it--had laptop for 13-15 months. Not sure how you have been in the computer business for decade and longer and not have procedures to verify equipment is working at drop off. Trust me, if I would have known something could happen I would have had them test it. Valuable lesson learned.

Mike, Some printers are repairable and some are not. Inkjet printers are almost always not repairable as there are no replacement parts available and the manufacturers glue everything together. Laser and LED printers are almost always repairable. Give us a call with your make and model and we can advise on a course of action. Thanks, CompuDirect 843-293-2667

Hi Linda, Yes, we can repair pretty much anything on a laptop including keyboards. Some times the key can be reinstalled but in any case we can fix it. Thanks for your inquiry. CompuDirect

Do you repair tablets I have an acre with a cracked screen and a Samsung that won't charge anymore. Are these repairs that you do?

No, we no longer repair tablets and cell phones. There are two place in Myrtle Square Mall that should be able to help you. Be careful - I have heard that one of those places is very high. Remember that many tablets are cheaper to replace than to repair. Check the price of a new tablet before having yours repaired. If you need a laptop/notebook repaired, we're for you as we do that everyday!
