2 stars for the lack of organization, attention to detail, communication and follow through of the office staff on the home care side of Hestia. Our caregiver is outstanding but dealing with the scheduler and her staff is ridiculously difficult and often fraught with errors on their part. I would give the Hospice staff -Charlene, Penny, Cheryl, Emma and their new medical director 5+ stars. Their professionalism both on the service provision side and in the office follow up side are impeccable. The exact opposite of what we experience on the in-home care side.

Hestia assisted us with both in-home care and later with hospice services in my mom's final year and a half. In each case, the staff was unfailingly available, caring and compassionate in working with each of us. Despite fear and dementia, my mom formed a trusting and happy relationship with her biweekly caregiver. The office staff patiently helped me work through protracted negotiations with the long-term care insurers. When the end came, it was swift, but Hestia/Hospice was able to step in quickly and allow my mom to pass with comfort and dignity in familiar surroundings while also making sure I was doing okay and was well supported. I recommend Hestia very highly!

I am so sorry to hear about your mom. We can help. Unfortunately standard insurance including Medicare, does not cover long term care (including caregivers in the home). If you have Long Term Care insurance however this is an option. Finding the right care and support in the home is stressful and expenses are always a concern.
