Trampas lakes is great dayhike, no bugs labor day weekend and there are lots i Of campsites at the top of the trail if you want to hike in. Campground itself is basic but nice sites along a creek.

Questions & Answers

Can you use a mountain bike to reach the lakes? Or is the path 2 harsh for bikes?

I do not believe bikes are allowed..., hikers, horses and dogs are allowed. Even if they were allowed, it is basically 5 miles uphill over 2,500 ft elevation gain. And even IF you made it up on a mountain bike, the downhill would suck because you would be stopping regularly for hikers and their dogs. It wouldn't be fun and it would pose a serious safety issue for yourself and the others using the trail. Please do not try to mountain bike on this trail.
