I went for a Physical Therapy. Therapists suggested to do 90 days pool exercise. We joined the wellness center it is part of Good Samaritan Hospital. I said I will be able to use the facility only for 2 months. Then the councilor said when you come back, you could use that extra 1 month. Needless to say there was a hidden clause in the contract that if you don’t call and cancel the contract, they will keep on billing you every month. They have your credit card information. When I explained the situation, they said they cannot do anything about it. Their call center folks were rude. Our family goes to the Hospital past 30 years. Now I stopped going to even the Hospital Services. Advocate Good Samaritan should divorce such relationship. Otherwise, Hospital name will be in stake. I couldn’t even give 1 star to this fitness center. They keep a sign at the entrance of 39th street to enroll. Everyone will think Hospital is running this fitness center. Ask them first before join and read all hidden sentences in small writing.

I had been a member for 2+ years. Loved the space and one of the best things about the place was that I usually it to myself. I would frequent off hours and there would be 10-15 members in the entire 100,000sqft facility. Those I would bump into were kind and for a long while the employees seemed to be fond of me. Over the past 6 months things changed. Employees and members were actively going out of their way to harass me. I would be by myself hundreds of feet away from the next closest human. I would be aggressively approached and would be told I had to cover my face with a mask. From OPPOSITE ENDS OF THE FACILITY I would be approached. Mind you, these were typically members who would then go to the staff. Neither of which were polite. This happened on multiple occasions. In a world where you are allowed to enter a restaurant and uncover your face so long as you remain seated at you table (even if they 2 feet removed from the nearest table) it seems insane that can’t be said for a fitness facility. As a “Health and Wellness Center” I would have hoped that would be the message being pursued. It is however apparent that personal agendas and spreading fear is more important to the patrons and staff.

Horrible experience at this facility. Miss managed. If I can give 0 star I will love to.

The Wellness Center has taken a turn for the worse. I have been a member for 20 years and have become quite dissatisfied with the management. Poor and inconsistent communication, more restrictive hours for pool use, and cater more to kids programs at the expense of members. When approached, staff are either unaware or ill informed about constant rule changes. Today we were kicked out of the pool as it was closed for cleaning, yet a staff person was bobbing in the pool.

I'm a member and get emails about the classes and don't see any mention of protocol. They don't check to see if you are vaccinated but they do require masks unless you are in the pool.

Is the pool open for class?
