Stayed at tar hollow campground, big area with camp sites, we stayed in 96 and 97 with a tiny camper. Well worth the visit and the staff was super friendly.

I don't give many 5 stars, my experience was very spiritual and humbling. I felt God's presence everywhere... For being in the middle of the forest I was pleased with the restrooms, they were very clean and well attended, the picnic areas were very nice, I saw a few dogs walking their humans and the humans were well behaved... It is a very nice place to camp or just visit. I'm going back...

Yes. County roads are free to everyone. Private landowners at times will come outside armed if you approach their property, so stick to public lands and tread lightly.
