Christy Hines has to be the most unprofessional individual I have ever encountered. It was my understanding that ERA Martin was a higher-end real estate operation within the Ross County area. Upon entering the office we were taken back by the appalling condition of the office. Papers everywhere, and clutter all over the place. It is a very unwelcoming experience. While we were waiting to inquire upon a rental property management, Christy was making phone calls, and degrading what seemed like current tenants. When we were able to ask a question, she essentially cut us off mid-question. She told us there’s applications on the porch that includes available properties, she was uninterested in speaking with us, or answering any questions whatsoever. We felt like we were being kicked out. Funny part is, we weren’t wanting to rent a property. We have 3 houses in the surrounding area, we were wanting to inquire about having them manage our properties. If she, and the condition of the office are any indication of how this business is ran, I wouldn’t let her, or ERA Martin touch any property of mine!

Tim Rutherford practices shady selling techniques and makes unprofessional comments of colleagues, other realtors, and clients of those realtors. Would not recommend.

Tim Rutherford is hands down amazing to work with. He is fast and very responsive. We had trouble in the past and Tim changed our whole experience. He is very knowledgeable and definitely knows the real estate process. He always had our best interest in mind. If your looking to buy a home or sell this is who you should call.

The timeframe to purchase a home varies depending on many factors. It can take 2+ months to prepare and view homes prior to writing offer. This is where preparation is key…having your preapproval and completing your home needs consultation with your Realtor will drastically reduce time spent looking at properties. Once an offer is written and accepted, the average escrow for a financed purchase is 30-45 days. Hot markets can take longer due to demand of inspectors, appraisals etc. A cash purchase can close escrow faster than one with loan.
The first step in purchasing a home is getting preapproved with a lender so you know your buying power and are comfortable with the payment. You will also want to check your credit score and funds available for down payment and closing costs. If you do not have a lender, your Realtor will provide you with references of lenders that they work with and trust. The lender will educate you on loans available with estimated down payment and closing costs. Your Realtor will then conduct a buyer consultation to determine your needs and begin scheduling viewings of homes that meet your desired criteria.
