I have had eye issues since 7 and am very familiar with my eye health. I recently moved 3hrs from either of my ophthalmologists (2 of the best in country whom I love and have worked with for a decade) so I had to (reluctantly) get a new one. I was referred here because of my glaucoma, uveitis, history of retinal detachment, and a cataract. After me going over my medical history with them for an hour and a half before seeing a doctor, I then had the doctor attempt to “diagnose” me with a genetic defect I’ve known about since I was 6 and was the cause for 9 eye surgeries that I went in detail with them about. I made them aware of my cataract, as I was told 2 years ago that within a year I would need surgery. It has now gotten so bad that I will likely need a lens replacement in my good eye and cannot see to drive at night and had to get my prescription remade 3 times to barely correct my poor vision. When I saw the doctor, I was literally laughed out of the room by her and the support staff and told “good luck finding anyone who will operate on you” and “don’t bother seeing a specialist here because they’re gonna tell you no. our doctors already classified it as mild” and continues to laugh at me and speak to me rudely. Being a young woman with multiple disabilities and trying to find quality practitioners who treat you with respect and dignity is hard as it is, and to have two doctors here laugh me out of the room for eye issues that have caused me to have 9 surgeries, 1 year of intense steroidal treatment, septic shock, and having piloted experimental surgeries before the age of 10 that are now commonplace is so harmful and I hope they work on taking better regard to the overall feelings of their patients. Just because I am young and a woman does not mean I don’t understand my health. I can only imagine the way they treat other vulnerable people. Do better.

Responsive, caring doctors. Dr. Anderson addressed my concerns on Saturday within thirty minutes of my call to the answering service. He and Dr. Burkowski patiently answered my questions during my appointment with them.

The medical staff has given quality care. However, the support staff seems overtaxed. Also they speak really softly and it's difficult to hear and understand them.
