Dr. Mitzman provided my family with stellar care. She has a compassionate minded approach. It was very comforting to be in her care. She took the time to explain the diagnostic test and what they were looking for. Nothing short of the best care we have experienced in years!

Dr. Jennifer Mitzman provides some of the best patient care parents can find, in one of the biggest pediatric emergency departments in the country. When dealing with families and patients she is both passionate and understanding, all while remaining professional and focused. She always advocates for what is best for the patient, even when it is not the popular opinion. She is truly a phenomenal physician who always has her patient’s best interests at heart. If you have Dr. Mitzman on your care team, you should consider yourself very lucky.

Today we had a very bad experience at OSU urgent care today. Last week I came down with strep. I have history of it, know what it feels like and I caught it immediately . Yesterday the girls started to complain about sore throat’s. By yesterday I mean last night after cheering. They have never had strep and have not had anything that’s required antibodies in over 4 years. So just because I had strep I wanted to get them tested and took them to OSU urgent care since it was one that opened the earliest. After hour and half wait in a room Dr Jennifer Mitzman (whom I have never met before)came in, we shared details for why we were there. No fever besides sore throat, groggy but they just cheered last night and very busy with activities. She asked if girls are in school - yes. She asked if they wore mask - no. I commented we have not been exposed to covid, there are currently no cases of covid in their school and we continue to take precautions per covid. She was not happy 1 we were in school, 2 they did not wear mask. I made it clear I would only like the girls to be tested for strep. Jennifer said a nurse would be in. She left and sent male nurse in to do swabs. I asked him what he is swabbing for and he said both strep and covid test. I told him we would only like the strep test. He left to check w doc. She came back in attack mode, very belittling, degradingly hostile. Informing me she is a fully educated doctor and test kids every day and I should listen to her. I again reminded her they had not been exposed to covid ONLY strep and her push for covid test was opinion based. She threatened me and said she would not clear my kids for anything if I refused covid test. What in the What!!! What!! I let her know we will be seeking medical evaluation somewhere else from someone else. She walked out of the room yelling it’s not an opinion it’s science. I said I agree to disagree but they have been exposed to strep not covid and her forcing my kids to take covid test was based on her personal opinion. She continued to yell as we left. Never have I had an experience like that at OSU my entire life. So off to find a doctor who doesn’t think they are god. Never will I allow an individual to tell me nor my children what we should do. Period. My body My choice. Our children need to be reminded of that! Medical freedom still exist and I will not allow my children’s freedom to be threatened by any individual. By the way, we went to children’s urgent care immediately after. Shared same symptoms, took vitals, bp great and oxygen 100% (same as at OSU) swabbed with NO threats and positive for strep. Jennifer is not an ethical doctor and abuses her position as one.
