I absolutely love this store! Yes, the prices may be a slight higher than your local Wal-Mart, but it is well worth it. Top quality produce is one thing I like to see, and Whole Foods in Baton Rouge always delivers! Example...purchased 3 avocados, all at different stages of ripening. All 3 made it to perfect ripe stage without one bruise, bad spot, or going mushy! Avocado lovers will understand! Not only that, I love to roast tri-colored carrots! They were fresh, but just looked a bit aged. The produce employee saw me pass them up, then asked if he could help. I asked if he had any fresher looking ones. He apologized! "I just started refreshing everthing, I will be right back." In a couple of minutes, he handed me a beautiful bunch! Now that is service! A few more things that are worthy if you're hungry, oven baked pizzas, they will even warm a slice for you, there is a deli hot foods bar, salad bar, smoked meats and sandwiches, fresh breads, sushi bar, AND desserts and coffee to go! All with inside and outside seating available - huge selection of top quality vitamins, homopathic items, bath products, and non toxic cleaning supplies - and to top it off, plenty of vegetarian and vegan products in the deli,frozen food section, and throughout the store! My grandaughter is a vegetarian, so this is where we head to when she is visiting! All in all, you will definitely enjoy stopping in, even if you just want to look around! Don't let the prices keep you away, it's not that big of a difference, and their quality is top notch. Bonus, all Amazon Prime members receive special discounts throughout the store.

I recommend Garden of Life brand Raw Organic Protein. This product contains multiple sources of plant-based protein, and amino acids. It contains probiotics, which will help restore your bioflora and may support your immune system. It should be easy for your body to digest. If they don't have this specific formulation at this Whole Foods you can have them order it. Always check with your doctor. Vitamin C has been proven to do nothing for your immune system, just fyi before someone suggests that.
