Recently, I reached out to Doug Olinde for rentals for my upcoming wedding. Ty Smith responded to me and was INCREDIBLY condescending and rude. I have never been led to leave a review before, but I had to warn any Bride or Wedding Planner looking for rental services to look elsewhere. I see now that there are plenty of reviews stating their condescending and disrespectful attitudes. Obviously there is a pattern.

I have just received the worst service that I have ever been exposed to by a retail company in my entire life.Mr. Ty Smith decided to call me( a representative of the customers they would be providing business to, and start to yell and belittle me. The contract was mailed out to us on March 29. We then in turn sent in a vendor packet to this company state information what we needed to provide payment because we are a charter school we don’t have a credit card that we can just swipe. 8 days before our event he states that he “shouldn’t have to fill out all of this paper work” which was 4 pages. I tried to explain to him that we would have their payment upon arrival. Which was planned. He talked over me the entire conversation and then when I asked “could I speak please” he stated very boldly “NO you cannot speak”! Is this how we treat customers in 2021? I am a person a human being and despite “Olinde being burned by other charter schools” that has nothing to do with the customer that is in front of you now. I WANT TO SPEAK TO THE OWNER! I will not rest until I do! I am sooooo disgusted and disappointed because I’m new to working in Baton Rouge from New Orleans and this is the welcome I get! No unacceptable! I will blast this, my friends will blast this. This business doesn’t need a Ty Smith. Mr. Ty, I want you to know you were not speaking to any old woman, you belittled and yelled at a Mother, A wife, a social worker, an advocate for her community and most of all an EDUCATED Black Woman! I will add that Ms. Monique Broussard was very polite and apologetic for his behavior as she was sitting right next to him hearing it all.
