If you’re going north on the 395 highway, this is past Lone Pine, and the last rest stop before getting to Big Pine and Bishop. It is open 24 hours. I’ve stopped here 2 or 3 times before and it’s always nice. They have little paths you can stretch your legs on. There is also a pet area for your dogs to get some relief; also a water faucet for your dogs is available. The bathrooms, the most important thing, seem to be really well maintained every time I stop by. The only thing is that they almost never have paper towels to dry your hands with. As usual, the “bulletin board” area has a lot of information about the local areas, they also have a couple of pay phones which I’m guessing are just there for emergency since we all have cell phones nowadays. You’ll find a few stone benches around the area if you want to take a load off your feet as you rest from a long drive. The whole area is always well lit and there are always at least a half dozen or so 18-wheelers parked. The presence of other drivers gives me a small sense of security even when it's pitch black at night.

While the bathrooms aren't perfect the creek is very pretty and is very nice to just watch flow and maybe pick some wild mint

This is such a beautiful rest area to stop at. They have clean bathrooms, plenty of places to sit, beautiful scenery and even a stream that runs through it. They also have a pet area for those traveling with their pets.

Clean restrooms, loved this rest area. Thank you for keeping it so clean, really nice man maintaining this location 😊 . It has a beautiful view of these gorgeous trees and their foliage during the month of November 2021. It has a pet area and there was hardly anyone at this rest area.
