Went shopping at Dillards, 2 works kept following us and asking questions as if they were suspicious. I was tryna shop around for dresses. They kept asking “are you ready for check out” if i was, i would check out. This was in the dress department, i walked to the furniture side and the same lady was there. i got tired of it so i didn’t buy anything and left.

Dear Four-Season Management and Security personnel, I want to address an issue I have with you and your security team and the way they conduct business. I have been coming to this mall meeting my ex-husband to basically allow a safe and secure environment to transfer our child into his custody or vice versa. My ex-husband and myself have been patrons of this mall in the past; however, we were not on 11/21/2020 at approximately 3:00PM, mainly because I had a family emergency. The issue I have is there was another family before I got to the parking lot doing the exact same thing from what my daughter and my ex-husband told me. I arrived t the mall at approximately 3:20PM and was immediately followed by your security officers, and once I parked, I was immediately asked by your security officer if we were going to go into the mall. My ex-husband advised the officer that we were not, at which time the officer stated that we can no longer meet to transfer our child. I then looked across to the next row and noticed others who had met in the parking lot and appeared to not be patrons either but was never approached. So that brings me to my issue after listening to the conversation my ex-husband had with the officer via cell phone, which made it clear to me the officer’s real motive. This officer made excuses that he was concerned about drug deals, guns, or the sale of goods in the parking lot, not something like sex trafficking which I would have been more understanding. This officer saw a black female who happens to drive a 2019 Jeep Cherokee, which is blacked out, decided to follow it around the parking lot until I parked, keep in mind this was in broad daylight. I really feel like I was racially targeted because of my vehicle and my skin color, and from what the officer stated while I was listening on the phone. I do understand that the parking lot is considered private property however there are no loitering signs anywhere to be found or at least in the parking lot. I want to end this by saying thank you and your security team for a life lesson for my child to experience what I have experienced my whole adult life, which is racial profiling. This is also another reason law enforcement have such a bad image in the eye of the public which is sad cause both my Ex-husband and I happen to be officers. I will be sending this complaint to the mall management, this kind of action needs to be addressed.
