It's unfortunate to hear these bad stories I'm thinking about moving to that area and one of the reasons is I want to be close to the VA I guess this makes me appreciate the one I go to now I live in Gainesville Florida that's in North Florida and the VA used to be kind of dirty and the care was not so great and the staff were just disrespectful and rude and in the last few years down here that's all changed it's top notch it's all cleaned up the staff is very respectful the latest I've ever been seen was on time I'm trying to find the same experience somewhere else in the southeast, Georgia or Alabama

I have been using this clinic for almost 10 years, have had the same Doctor. I have zero complaints. If you have issues with the clinic, you are asking for things you are not qualified to receive, or do not know who to ask what questions. When care was not available to me at the clinic, I was given prompt attention via the Community Care, after referred there from the VA. You won't always get the answer you want, but you will get the answer that is correct, based upon what the can and cannot do. I LOVE the care I get here in Knoxville, and the fact that I no longer have to drive 100 miles each way to Johnson City. Be polite and respectful to you caregivers, and you will get the same in return, I have.

I read some of these reviews and can not believe the are real. I have been going here for about 7 years, and yes the leave some to be desired but over all they treat me with respect and take care of all m medical needs. They have been good to me.

Don't go if you can't find a babysitter they will cancel your appointment or make your caregiver stay outside in the car. With the kids.

Call and ask for someone in community care they can tell you if he is eligible to receive any care outside of the va facility
This is just a wellness clinic that can prescribe meds, clean your ears, and give a physical. They cannot do x-rays, fill scripts, treat an asthma attack, etc... They will refer you out for anything not minor, or you can go to Johnson City for further care. If you have an actual emergency--spiked fever, asthma, broken bone, etc... you can go to the ER. Rumour has it a VA hospital should open in Knoxville in about ten years. Hope this heps
No
Just call and make an appointment to talk to a provider.
Not that I'm aware of it's like everything else ran by the government substandard and slow. They do have vending machines available which is nice
Yes. You can go there and receive one.
Most likely going to Johnson City they have a shuttle
Not sure but might be busy taking other calls what's the number your calling
Call 865-670-2364 optometry department. They have different number from the main.
Possible if you are already registered at that facility and have a regular doctor but you will most likely have to wait several hours
VA Knoxville does have a hearing clinic. It is located at the annex. 877-926-6389
As long as you have a VA card. It's good nationally. But as stated you will have a long wait without an appointment. You might have a better chance going to Johnson City where the clinic is bigger and they have an actual ER wing.
Yes
I believe the walk in is for fitting, broken glasses. If you want to see the doctor you need an appointment. The eye clinic is at the annex now with x-ray, down the road from the VA. Call 865-545-4592 for the main building and ask to be transferred to the eye clinic.
865-545-4592 is the main clinic number. If its busy Call Mt. Home 423-926-1171 and they should be able to transfer you to who you need
I haven't heard of a Dr. Sexton. Have you gone there and asked for him?
Ask your primary care doctor for a referral to the audiology department
Johnson city. Mountain home VA medical center. Mileage from sweetwater tn is 150 miles one way. I hear there is one near Nashville as well. I have not been to it. Sorry.
You need to get the transfer form from the place your moving from to give it to the va your going to
You can tell them at the Rockwood Clinic, and they will connect you with the Knoxville Clinic.
Take your dd214 to 8033 Ray Mears Blvd. and they'll tell you what to do.
You will receive a call shortly from the eye clinic
