I find it intereating that you (you know who "you" are) said that it's not common practice for your company to put people in hospice care that are not nearing the end of life. I typed in your company name in google and this popped up. Y'all lied, and the truth will come out!!! My little brother was not in critical condition!!!!! Complaints against SouthernCare include allegations that the company put patients in their hospice program who weren’t terminally ill in order to submit claims for the more expensive treatment to the government health insurance plan for seniors. SouthernCare denies the claims but did promise to pay almost $6 million to clear up the allegations. The two whistleblowers, Dawn Hamrock and Patricia Beegle, will share slightly more than $1 million of that, according to the settlement agreement.

Hospice care is for people who have a life-limiting illness with a life expectancy of six months or less, and have chosen to focus on comfort care over treatment. Eligibility criteria includes frequent hospitalizations, progressive weight loss, deteriorating mental abilities, frequent infections, and/or an overall decline in condition.
