I am very disappointed in how the coaches are chosen for rec sports and I am equally disappointed in the guidelines the these coaches have (DON'T HAVE)!!! These coaches do not realize the impact that they have on our young people. There are kids coming from broken homes, abuse in the family , bullying and this list sadly goes on and on. A lot of times its being able to to play a sport that makes these kids feel normal for a least a little while. It really broke my heart to watch my nephew being left on the bench for every game that I've gone to watch him play. In talking to my sister, she stated that he has been on this same team for two years and rarely ever gets to play. I've watched my nephew attempt to talk to who I think is the head coach and he just ignores him. My daughter talked to one of the coaches and that coach stated that in order to play they have rules that have to be followed. So that means in two years my nephew has never followed the rules and no one has bothered to talk to my sister to see what could be done to help my nephew. From my understanding rec sports is paid for by the parent so I guess that means my sister has been throwing money away hoping that my nephew would get a fair shot like the other team members. I have spoken to parents with kids in other county rec sports and they tell me that their coaches have strict rules that they have to follow to keep everything fair for all kids. I am so disappointed in the 12 and under football coaches. You are more concerned with winning the game than you are with the kids that are on your team. Please Do Better
