My two sons and I arrived shortly after 8am at the small creek, we were informed that we were late. I told the young guy that took our money that I wasn’t aware that we had to be there at 730 am, that I wasn’t advised of that when I made the reservation. I was only told that we couldn’t fish prior to the stocking and that the stocking was done at about 730 or 8am. Our bad I suppose. The creek was nothing like I remember it from previous trips there. It appeared to be washed in and it was somewhat overgrown. We all three caught our limit, however, I thought some of the fish could have been larger, but they were very scrappy. Some of the fish I have seen in the other reviews were almost twice as big as some of our fish. We had about 4 what I consider to be a really nice fish. My youngest son has fished Pickles Bottom before and said he liked it much better than the small creek. Overall our experience was ok but it was just not what I remember from past trips.

This is the absolute BEST trophy trout fishing place around!! We have a blast every single time we go and we go once or twice a month! Every time we go, we catch quality big trout and limit out every time! Vanessa is an absolute delight to make reservations with and she's even more delightful when we get to the stream and are able to talk with her! Steel, the stocking man, is just as nice and easy to work with! We will ALWAYS continue to go to Blue Springs for all our trophy trout fishing fun! An absolute must for any fisherman or fisherwoman!

Just saw a very negative post about pickles bottom. Who ever made that post just want you to know it’s called fishing not catching. And you probably thought trout just absolutely loves power bait. The owner is right trout fishing is a art and they do a excellent job with the creek. Our trout group had fished there for several years. And I can account one time the five of us didn’t limit out and that’s because one fell in the creek and it was 20 degrees and two of us had to take him home the idiot didn’t bring extra clothes lol. We’ve caught small fish there before also but that’s usual wash down fish from up stream. If you couldn’t catch em come when we go we will catch em for you.
