This and Macklin Bay Campsite across the way, fees are $30 for an electric site and $10 for non, but we could not find any non-electric, plus $12 out of state vehicle parking permit. On top of that the entry permit situation was confusing for multiple campers; you’re just driving through a literal trailer park (not RVs, trailers), and there’s a bar tender dealing with apparently everything including permits and firewood but the camp host site is not marked at all. Multiple other campers were very confused about how and where to get an “entry permit” and why it’s not just payable at the box. So, you’re paying about $50 off the bat for tent camping and a hectic time trying to pay all the different fees, and yet the showers are coin operated. Would’ve taken a quick one anyway but the change machine did not work, lol. $50 and couldn’t even take a shower. At the macklin site, which seems connected organizationally to the spring canyon site, the train drives by and blasts horns in the middle of the night. There’s also a light that randomly comes on throughout the night. So, long story short, if you want to camp for natural appeal and and you want bang for your dollar, do not stay at these sites. Recommend trying to find another locale.

The bathrooms were dirty and the dump station was overflowing. The camping spots were not very level.

Really nice spot right off trail 3, comes right up to the shore line. Plenty of area for multiple tents. The end of the trail is tucked into a little cove of trees that blocks the wind and provides shade. It also kind of stands alone on this trail as the rest of the beach is for boating and swimming so there is a nice element on seclusion.
