Affordable rentals and friendly people! Renting sleeping bags from this outfitter was easy and drop off was quick. Very close to downtown Ashville and Black Mountain.

We had a wonderful experience yesterday floating down the French Broad with this company. It was great fun. There were 4 of us women, all at least well into our 60's. As we approached the take out spot, we drifted to the wrong side of the river, and because we were all tethered together, we could not get ourselves across. Loie came out to get us in her trusty kayak, and pulled us all back to shore. We, of course, were extremely grateful, especially when we found out there was a dam below us! 5 stars to Loie!

Nice group of employees and the ride down the French Broad was ok.

Floated down the FRENCH BROAD this weekend. It was a beautiful day and the river was high and calm. Four of us started out on our 3 hour tour and really had A LOT of trouble steering (?) our tubes which were tethered together. At the put-out spot, we just could not get over to the correct side of the river! We thought we maybe we could walk them across so “detubed”- this was not a good idea as we could not get back in and bad led to worse! Thankfully Loie rescued us!! She not only “retubed” us (she had to get out of her kayak and in the water), she did so in a calm confident way that was most reassuring! Huge thank you to Loie and all the FBO gang!!

Hi there. Both the rad and Biltmore are six river miles and approximately 2+ hours. These are kayaks tandems canoes and paddle boards. Tubes we do a 3 mile trip, also 2+ hours
Two to 4 hours, depends on the current, and how much you stop to swim or hang out on the banks
Hi Beth, We have two six mile trips that take around 2 hours. If you have your own kayak and only need a shuttle it is $15 per person. If you need our boats and a shuttle upstream then it's $45 per person. Give us a call or you can book online, trip descriptions are available on our website
We do have a no alcohol policy on our day trips. For overnight shuttles we understand that you need to stay hydrated so bring your coolers with whatever beverages you need to stay hydrated and have a fun and responsible time!
They do have a dirt parking lot to the west but not sure if they would let you park there overnight. They do have shuttle service.
If you use there shuttle
