Yes. In some states, called Zero-Deductible states, if you have full (comprehensive) coverage, your deductible is waived, and the windshield chip repair or full windshield replacement will be free to the policyholder. Our expert customer service team will help you determine your coverage level and work with your insurance company to verify your coverage level. We can handle the claims process for you, saving you time.
Scratch removal in auto glass is not a commercially viable solution to the retail market. Basically, it is labor-intensive and not always successful. If the customer is not satisfied with the result, they are understandably not willing to pay for the time and materials invested by the glass company. Scratch removal and scratch buffing systems exist; however, they are typically only practical in warehouses, industrial, and larger commercial glass projects. Please call our Glass Doctor office if you would like a more detailed explanation.
Currently, most Glass Doctor locations use urethane with a one-hour safe drive-away time from when the new windshield gets set. No need for blue tape or any holds on washing your car. You are fully protected at the 60-minute mark. Please be sure to check with your local Glass Doctor to ensure the type of urethane being used.
For auto glass, we have the best guarantee in the nation upon installing a new windshield. If you choose our Windshield Protection Plan, you’ll have coverage for a full 12 months. Should you get a rock chip in your new windshield, Glass Doctor will repair it at no cost to you. Our Windshield Protection Plan covers all rock chips received in the first 12 months — no limit. Should you receive damage that is not repairable such as a long crack or significant damage in the driver’s view area, we will replace the windshield at no cost to you for the glass material. Depending upon the type of coverage you purchase at the time of original install, you may be responsible for the cost of labor, adhesive, and moldings.
Unfortunately, tempered safety glass, by design, cannot be cut. It is designed to break into small pieces when cut or broken to reduce the risk of significant injuries to the person breaking it. Using safety glass, of which “tempered” is one type, is mandated by state building codes in specific applications like doors, sidelights, showers, etc. Please call Glass Doctor if you want more information on this topic.
Yes! We do replace rollers if needed. Of course, we try to clean the tracks and rollers and adjust first. If that does not work, we will discuss replacing the rollers for you.

We specialize in glass replacement. We can, in most cases, remove the glass from the frame and install new glass. Your existing window sash will remain.
Most likely. However, if the mirror is glued to the wall, there is no guarantee that it can be taken down without breaking. If you can get the existing mirror off the wall, we will need the mirror brought to our shop to cut down. There is no guarantee that the mirror will cut without breaking either. We cannot be responsible if a piece of glass or mirror that belongs to a customer breaks when trying to cut it, but we always do our best to cut carefully.
If you use steam to fog the glass, you will see a tempered logo in one of the corners that shows the glass is safety glass. There are code requirements for safety glass as well. Consult with your local Glass Doctor for those requirements.
No. Each double or triple pane window is manufactured in a quality-controlled environment and sealed carefully to keep air or gas trapped between the panes. As more and more windows include a heat reflective low-emissivity (Low-E) surface inside the unit, these become irreparable once moisture oxidizes the material, leaving a discolored, moldy appearance inside the unit. Even without a Low-E surface, the water staining that occurs from condensing and evaporating over and over leaves a hazy film on the glass that cannot ever be cleaned to perfection.
