A humble mom and pop joint. No rest rooms, no ice, everything is served in to go box. Collard greens were way too sweet. The okra stew was great. The fried chicken is 5 small wings only. Folks were very friendly and pleasant. I will go back to support small black business.

Small local place. If you like honest homestyle soul food this is the place to go. You will not be disappointed. We had ribs, fried pork chop, collared greens, green beans, okra soup and macn cheese. Loved it all!

Delicious and tasty soul food, the BBQ ribs and fried fish were by far the best I’ve had in the area. The red rice is a must try as well! Would happily visit this area multiple times!

I am not from SC, my first time in Charleston but found this gem on Google maps and walked from the waterfront aquarium to East Side Soul Food. Easy to find.
Not a buffet, small restaurant. But I would ask about catering for your event. Good food.
