Front desk staff are some of the absolute worst. The nursing staff are rude and vulgar. The facility itself is outdated and dilapidated considering. The emergency staff are a joke. If you're having an emergency, your best option is to make peace with whoever you pray to.

This place is an absolute joke. We've been in Monroe county for almost 5 years now, and while the staff is, at times, mostly courteous, the facility itself is obviously severely inadequate whether it be from staffing, capabilities, or process. There is absolutely no sense of urgency in all my experience over several visits. God forbid you have to have x-rays and apparently they don't have a radiologist on site to review the results which means for most emergency tests you'll be sitting for hours while they send it off to who knows where. They have recently gotten to the point where there is little to no wait time to get into a run which is surprising considering our population and their volume as it makes in comparison to the nearest hospitals, but once you get in the back you often feel completely forgotten and almost every single time I've had to track down staff to see what is even going on only to find them at their stations otherwise unoccupied. I truly can't fathom how a hospital doesn't have a radiologist on site. My primary doctors office and facility up the road literally has an imaging center and is owned by the same hospital group, Atrium. Unless you are on the brink of death, and honestly I don't even know then, it's definitely better to go to Macon, and they have proved that time and time again at this point. It's truly the epitome of the horrible health care system that plagues rural Georgia, and shocking for a town that has so much money and prides themselves on being the cream of the crop compared to surrounding counties.

Monroe County Hospital is a nice small town Hospital. I worked in the lab for fourteen years there and am reapplying for there night shift MT position in the lab.

Yes, Navicent is over MCH and now Atrium is over Navicent
Monroe does not have that as an option yet.
As defined in the regulations, a swing bed hospital is a hospital or critical access hospital (CAH) participating in Medicare that has CMS approval to provide post-hospital SNF care and meets certain requirements.
