The best welcome center I’ve EVER been in! We we’re on our way back to Lavonia, GA from Hilton Head after a short but great sibling get together. I prefer back roads over interstates. I’ve never been down this highway 301 and when we crossed into Georgia and saw the Welcome Center I thought I had traveled back to my childhood! It looked just like the visitor centers from my childhood in Georgia. Justin, the assistant manager, was extremely nice, helpful and knowledgeable. He told us it is the oldest continuously operated welcome center in the United States. It has been open since 1962 and one of only two in Georgia that is not on an interstate. They even had several great local Georgia products for sale, which I bought several of, and lots of information. They even had free samples of Coke products from a fountain machine. That really took me back. If I’m ever in this area again I would go out of my way to stop there again. What a blast! The highlight of our 5 hour drive!

Yes, but to far out of town and no security, limited lighting.
