Everything about our weekend away was great, but our time with June and Robert was the highlight of our weekend. We had zero experience with jewelry making, but with the expertise of Robert and June we felt at ease through the whole process. The jewelry making aside, Robert and June are people that were so personable and we got along so well. We laughed for the entire time we were there and that is what great memories are made of. This was a 10/10 memory for us. If you are on the fence as to whether you want to do this...DO IT! You will thank yourself everytime you look at your beautiful treasure you created. After we were done we sat around told jokes, drank champagne and ate fancy cheeses from local vendors. It was just a great experience.

My wife and I stopped into Visions of Creation during a visit to Black Mountain earlier in the year and were struck by the distinctive interpretations and organic designs on display.  We were further delighted to learn that the owners offered a ring fabrication workshop, as I have long wanted to learn the details of crafting sterling silver jewelry following a brief exposure years ago. Designer Roberto Vengoechea and his wife June have created an excellent class for participants at any level of experience.  It began with background & safety discussions, but quickly grew to include basic materials and available design elements.  Roberto willingly accommodated specific requests and customized his instructions according to design requirements and the comfort level of the student.  Colorful accounts from his personal history were frequent accompaniments to the training and revealed the depth and breadth of his talents.  June focused on our comfort throughout, captured our progress in photo & video highlights and put together a wonderful celebration of our creations at the end of the day. The Jewelry Workshop was an extraordinary experience and we recommend it without reservation.   Any friend or family member with creative leanings would find this an exceptional gift.
