I love this campground. 1. Very clean and well maintained. We visited in a cold season and the rest room has a heater on..so it makes restrooms very warm and cozy. 2. Nice people. People here are so smiling and super friendly. 3. Quiet and foresty. I could fully feel the nature while camping here. Very quiet and lots of trees around. 4. First come & first serve. No reservation needed. But once we decided the site, we have to pay in cash/check. We paid $26 for the electricity site in cash. 5. No fire woods sold on the campground. We went to Walmart near the campground to buy fire woods.

This campground is nestled in the Washington Jefferson NF just north of Wytheville, VA. For my husband and I, it was the perfect getaway. It's a beautiful area that is deeply forested. The campsites are spaced out that there is privacy between sites. There's a variety of site types, no hookups, electric only & electric and water. There are bath houses that need updating but they are functional. There is a campground host who was friendly and helpful however this campground does not sell firewood or ice. There is a couple of trails to hike as well

There are about 50 sites, only about a dozen are reservable on recreation.gov. Some have electric and water, other electric only or no hookups. Sites are reasonably level and paved and large enough for big units. Most sites are in the woods, however I did not see many issues with low branches. There are four shower houses that are aging, but clean and serviceable. Several trails accessible within the campground, other wise not many other amenities. It is a basic campground that does a good job at what it offers for the price thus the five star.

24 and 25 only have electricity. There is a filling station to fill tanks and also hydrants scattered throughout the park but they are not the regular screw on faucets to connect a hose.
