I am a resident of Fayette County and my son spent a few nights in jail because of a traffic warrant in another county. When he was transferred to the other county his two cell phones did not transfer with him. When we returned to Fayette County Police to retrieve the phones this is where the problem began the afternoon on May 19th, 2022. We were told that the phones were not there. We were told that a Peachtree City officer came and got the cell phones. We were showed a document that the officer stated that this was evidence that the phones were picked up. My son was adamant about the phones being there because he saw them being sealed and he described the people that did the intake. We asked Officer Meyer (I believe this is her name) to check the video. Her reply was that she was not going to check a video for any cell phones. She said that they were not in the room where they were suppose to be. She called the officer that was on duty when he was released but did not make any effort to contact the people who did the intake. She showed NO compassion for a citizen that had a vital complaint. She further said that we needed to go to Peachtree City Police Department and we did. Officer Meyer was very unprofessional in her demeaner because she did not show any support for a citizen that had a real complaint. Teenagers are very attached to their cell phones. It's their lifeline. My son was very upset. Long story, short. The officer at Peachtree City, Officer Yeh did the research that Fayette County should have done! Thank God for body cameras. The officer that brought my son to Fayette County had the recording of the phones being given to the intake people at Fayette County. Within 30 minutes of our visit with the Peachtree City officer, we received a phone call from Officer Yeh and he told us that the phones had been found at Fayette County Police Department. Yes, people do make mistakes and people die from people making mistakes. In the future, Officer Meyer needs more training on how to better support the citizens of this county. She just blew us off.............. Not acceptable. I am retired military and a school teacher of 24 years and I was very disappointed to see someone in "uniform" treat a person's complaint the way she did me and my son.

When I went I was told go to the police station in my county to get fingerprinted for a job; the only reason I went to Fayetteville police station was because it is closer to my home; I told the officer this and he said well next time go to the station of the county where you live; I thought I could go to the one of my choosing long as it was an official fingerprint being done. I’m not sure but my experience here was not a good or welcoming experience.

Called the police department last night to do a curiosity check on our Church, because we seen some suspicious stuff on our security cameras. They came right out and even called us on the phone to let us know there findings. We appreciate you guys taking time to check out the surroundings around the Church. Good customer service for the community.

Fayetteville Police has no jurisdiction in Clayton County. If the accident happened in Clayton County, then go to the local Police, or call Clayton County Sheriff's Office. Fayetteville Police might be able to record your report if you live in Fayetteville and the other party involved in the accident is not know; still, best bet is to go to the local jurisdiction.
