Great place to dive. Your first impression will be "wow this place is so clean and well kept!". Prices are reasonable and they offer a very generous military discount. I recommend going during the week. When this place is busy, the dive can get murky and feel congested. I recommend renting a flashlight or bringing your own as an absolute necessity. The initial descent is very murky and you can lose your buddy if not paying attention. once you get into the cave around 30ft it clears up. You can go down to about 95 ft before you reach a rope that says not to go past this point. Going past that point you lose visibility with the surface light. On the ascent, the visibility is great. Airbell is a nice touch along with finding the metal turtle. Water is COLD...wear a wetsuit or face getting very sick. I would be very disappointed to dive here if I was just open water and limited to 60ft. Plenty of bluegill that get in your face, as well as shy catfish. The bottom is an extremely soft silt, try not to kick it up and ruin the experience for others.

This was my second time back since 2014. The property is well maintained and very clean. The dive was awesome and easy with the platforms at the bottom. Loved seeing my girl Virgil 🐢. The assistance and help received from all the staff members was impeccable. Just to make a few; Christian, Aaron and Bryan really went out of their way to make sure we were happy from before our dive to after our dive. Definitely worth checking out.

The staff is wonderful! We camped from Friday thru Monday and they were very accommodating! Aaron showed us around the property and explained everything to us, as my husband was just getting his certification and this was our first time there. He really went way above and beyond!!! The grounds are immaculately kept. The facilities are nice. All the staff was superb! We recommend everyone come try out The Blue Grotto!

Adorable dive site! I LOVED seeing Virgil. The staff was very friendly. We didn’t have any issues with too many people being in the water. Plenty of fish to see and as I said seeing Virgil was a HIGHLIGHT. She is so cute and she nuzzled my hand a few times. The facilities are so clean and convenient. My dad rented equipment and it was nice!

Can you snorkel at the blue grotto

Steve Smith | Oct 21, 2021

I guess you could, but the area up too is fairly small. I'm not sure it would be with a trip there to snorkel that. Even the shallow area isn't big before the cavern. It's great to dive, but snorkel probably not. You can call and ask if they even allow it

What are the Covid safety practices like here?

In close quarters like the store mask suggested not required, but they ask to remain spread out. At the pavilions up to your group. And at the dock, kind of hard to wear a mask as you are going in or out to dive.. so take that as you will.. I stayed clear of people as best I could....

Yes they do. They have guides for hire. Truthfully, watch the video online or in dive shop, it is a simple dive. Even if you enter the deepest portion. Good buoyancy is a must.
