Have visited the Village Tavern for many years and have always felt food, service, cleanliness, and price were all good. My husband and I traveled an hour over to have lunch today. I had shrimp and grits and mango ice tea. On way home I began feeling sick to my stomach and have spent the whole afternoon ill. Timing correct for food bourne illness. Called and let manager know so no one else has same issue. He said he was sorry. I will not be visiting there again. Went out to have a nice lunch with my husband only to have gastrointestinal distress for the afternoon. So very important to assure quality food at correct temperature to prevent food borne illness. Makes me very upset to have to deal with this. Proper handling of food is now a concern for me now at this establishment .

Always wanted to try this place and it lived up to every expectation! Every bite had an abundance of flavor and the atmosphere is classy, yet very comfortable. If you like hot tea they have wonderful options! Looking forward to eating here again.

Great neighborhood bar and restaurant. Lots of good options and Happy Hour drinks and food. First visit—could’ve gone a bit better if the host and the one female server I encountered took time to be more welcoming and helpful (minus one star). Ended up sitting at the bar-bartender was great. I ordered the Dip Duo-Pimento Cheese Dip was good, Guacamole not so great. The Cobb Salad was the bomb! Wow! Took more than half home! Delicious and filling. Probably better if you only got the salad. The patio has limited seating and is first come first serve-so it’s hard getting a seat (I was here at 3:30)! Plenty of parking as it’s in a shopping center. All the food and desserts looked fresh and yummy!

Really great service with attention to detail on orders. There are a few vegan options like the beyond burger if the mayonnaise is removed. I appreciated they served burgers on wheat buns instead of white buns for nutritional value.
