My poor son stood around most of the time doing nothing. The coaches care more about chatting up girls than actually teaching. There is no trial class to see if you like it or not. I paid a $349 cancellation fee just so my son can leave. They preach about being a family but when approached about their coaches not coaching, all I got back was “Oh, no, they are good”. Don’t waste your money here.

I've been a member of SBG Buford since 2012 and I'm amazed at how they continue to grow and improve their teaching methods. This year, they added an "Advanced" class series that focuses entirely on just one position for 3 months straight. After attending these classes for the past 9 months, my game has improved tremendously and I am convinced this is the way of the future. It's a great feeling to be training for 10+ years and still feel like there is so, so much more to learn here!

Hands down the best gym I have trained at, even after only having been here for around four months. Not only is it an amazing facility with great equipment and amenities (pads, weights, shower, sauna), but also filled with top tier instruction. I have trained in martial arts for over 12 years from five different gyms, and none of them come close in terms of the quality of the coaches in every aspect of mixed martial arts, from Muay Thai and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, to putting it all together in a mixed martial arts or self-defense context. For years I thought of myself as someone who merely did martial arts for fun and self-defense, but I lacked the confidence and desire to compete. What SBG made me realize is that it is easier to find the confidence to compete when you are in a good environment with a real sense of camaraderie. Everyone I have interacted with at the gym has been extremely welcoming from day one. I truly feel like part of a team here where we all make each other better martial artists and people. The instructors also go out of their way to make you feel appreciated and supported whether you are a new member or a veteran of the gym. Whether you are someone looking for great workouts to stay in shape, to learn self-defense, or to pursue martial arts seriously and competitively, I cannot recommend this gym enough. It strikes the sweet spot between being family-friendly while also having a number of extremely skilled amateur and professional fighters. I drive over 40 minutes to get to this gym and it is well worth it even if you are slightly further.

We sure do! Boxing is a major concentration of our Muay Thai and MMA classes.
Hi Jonathan, thanks for your inquiry. We do a ton of boxing in our Muay Thai and Mixed Martial Arts classes. If your intention is to learn and practice boxing for self-defense, exercise, or to participle in Muay Thai and/or MMA, you'll love our boxing program. If your goal is to compete in boxing you'll want to find a gym that participates in those type of events, as we do not.
