As builder of the labyrinth at the Elk River Treatment Program facility, I was impressed with both the cooperation and professionalism of the staff with whom I interacted, and the attitude and cooperation of the program participants (teens) who assisted me with spreading the gravel base and locating field stones for the labyrinth circuits. This is an 11 circuit, Chartre labyrinth, approximately 60 feet in diameter. In terms of the volume and weight of materials, it was a gargantuan effort, made much easier because of the genuine care and willingness of the teens who were asked to help me. I did not expect this, and it's a testament to the quality of the professionals who work with these youth every day. Not one of the youth who helped with the build approached it as a burden, or with dread. There was an authentic and eager commitment to "service", which speaks volumes about how they respond to the profound work of the counselors, teachers, administrators, and field staff at Elk River.

My professional experience of Elk River Treatment was premised on training staff on the use of the labyrinth for contemplation and healing. My name is Rev Kerry Holder Joffrion and I am an educator. I find the staff; including field staff and clinical counselors to be thoughtful, intentional, creative and practical in their efforts to empower teens and young adults in recovery and restoration. Program clients are engaged and helpful in their group work and said that walking the path gave them meaning. Thank you for this important work you do with dedication and hope for their futures. Elk River Treatment Program changes lives.

We used Elk River Treatment Program (2017, 2019) for two of our adopted children who suffered severe trauma and attachment issues. We experienced success both in their helping the children confront their past along with tools to successfully guide their future. Additionally, we received parent training to help us learn better skill-sets once they returned. We were very pleased with the program. Highly recommended.

It’s strange that you have no record of me. I was number 1007. Maybe you should check again. I have a whole paragraph I angrily typed out that I’ve saved in my notes that I meant to leave with this review. I held back because i figured a 1 star was enough, but now I’m wishing I’d posted the whole thing. I went here in 2016 and it was hell. Treated like a prisoner. Went for depression. Left with ptsd. I don’t have this place confused. You’ve replied to other people I was literally there with.

Questions & Answers

Hey Karen Lee I remember you from my stay at Elk river I was client 1237. How can you deny the horrible things that happen to children that is so obviously true?

As client #1347, I’ve witnessed a lack of accommodation for my autism (that they obviously know about).

Also Karen Lee why do you pick and choose the Reviews you want to answer? I’m sure you remember me. But you haven’t yet responded to my review. Is it because you know what I’m saying is true

She is a fraud. She will not make any admissions about the horrifying details of the program because they conflict with what she has presented to the public.
