Pros: - The priests are wonderful. Fr. Mark is one of the best homilists and confessors ever. - There are also two really nice mosaics, and the main crucifix is also beautiful. - The people are also friendly. Eucharistic ministers are trained well and are appropriately reverent. - The parish has many events where you can get to know people. Cons: - The music sounds like bad summer camp music. The church has an organ, but I've only heard it once. The music is basically a bunch of Baby Boomers thinking, "Don't you kids want a guitar in your Masses?" (Vatican documents themselves say Gregorian chant and the organ should be the preferred elements of musical worship.) - The new part of the church is very plain compared to the old part, although the Stations are quite beautiful. I’m not sure what the architects were thinking. - It almost seems like uncomfortable elements of Catholicism have been excised from parish life to appear more friendly and inviting. There is a very subtle animosity toward any traditional practices or patrimony of the Tridentine Mass. No bells are used during the consecration or elevation, girls are altar servers, the extended form of the Eucharistic prayers with the names of the martyrs is rarely spoken, masses are rarely "sung," etc. and now the parish has instructed that the St. Michael prayer cannot be prayed publicly after Mass. When the Extraordinary Form was celebrated here a few times by a former priest, it was by word-of-mouth and not put on the official parish calendar.

It's a wide range. St. Henry's has a school, pre-K through 8, so lots going on with both the church and school programs.
Yes there is. God bless!
Bingo and lunch is Sept. 19th in the Fellowship Hall. There is usually a $10 cost for lunch, however; we often have sponsors of local businesses who provide lunch at no cost.
It is the Nashville Concert Chorale performing, "Sing, Choirs of Angels". A collection of Christmas music. They are not doing the Messiah at St. Henry this year.

Not yet. We do not have a Spanish speaking Priest.
