Very attentive and pleasant staff. Peaceful and garden like surroundings. I have been coming since 1965 to visit dad and just had mom join him in 2022

We’ve been there for years. We have never had any problems. They were wonderful. This was the first time we went into the Chapel because it rained heavily. Torrential rains. They were wonderful. They were accommodating. And it was a small funeral but they treated us as if we were someone important. They greeted us. So kind and sweet and caring . Offered us peace and kind words and the chaplain was great.

Not crazy about the Rood. They have terrible hours. They close promptly at 5pm weekdays and go around the cemetery just leaning on the horn to get you out. I am not around on weekends so I have to leave work early. So many times I just wanted to move my loved one to another cemetery. There are no more plots left unless you bribe the cemetery people with cash under the table.

No, burials/entombments do not take place at the cemetery on Sundays. Committal services may be scheduled Monday through Saturday. The cemetery is open on Sundays for visitation only.
The cemetery office should be contacted to review the ownership record and a review of the available lot space within that grave site 516.334.7990
Our cremation planning guide lists all of the necessary documentation to schedule a cremation at our cemeteries. It can be found on our website: http://www.holyroodcemetery.org/files/50225190.pdf
Good Afternoon- You would not be able to sell the crypts directly to another party. However, as the owner of the crypt, you would have the option to designate who could be entombed in the crypts or to surrender the crypts back to the cemetery. For more information, please call the office at (516) 334-7990 and our customer service team will be able to assist you.
We have 3 Masses scheduled for April at Cemetery of the Holy Rood. All will be celebrated in Holy Rood Chapel: - Saturday, April 2nd at 9:30 AM - Saturday, April 9th at 9:30 AM - Saturday, April 23rd at 9:30 AM For the full Mass schedule, please visit www.CCLongIsland.org. You will see a link to our Mass schedule on the right hand side of the page.
Christine- Sorry to hear about your father. Prior to burial, a committal service will be held with one of our deacons at the cemetery. This service can be held either graveside or in the cemetery's chapel. If you prefer to use the chapel, please have the funeral home notify the cemetery when making the burial arrangements. Please keep in mind this committal service (approximately 10 minutes long) would be separate from a funeral Mass. Unfortunately, funeral Masses are not celebrated at the cemetery and would need to be arranged at a local parish.
Maximum casket dimensions may vary slightly depending on the mausoleum building. Please contact the office (516-334-7990) to speak with a Customer Sales & Service Representative who will be able to look up the exact location and provide this information for you.
Look on the website and get the phone number and call them to find out
We expect scheduled burials to be performed, though several funeral homes have rescheduled services for later in the week. For information on a specific service, please check with the funeral home to see if any changes have been made. Please check our website (www.cclongisland.org) in the morning for details on potential closures or delayed openings at our cemeteries.
Call or visit the office, just beyond main entrance. They're very accommodating.
Joseph- To place your order, visit www.CCLongIsland.org and click on Holiday Decoration Program from the top menu. To begin your order, select the cemetery in which your loved one is interred to view the decoration options and add items to your cart. If you have any issues or concerns, please call the cemetery office.
I tried to get a copy of the deed where my dad is laid to rest as the original deed has been misplaced. They explained in their own warped way that was impossible and everything had to be done via affidavit and many hrs of phone calls and running around. You can try but based on my past and current experiences all I can say is I hope you're more successful than I was...good luck as the offices for some reason are closed ur burials are happening daily...hope this helps...
Yes, there are still plots still available for purchase. Please call us at 516-334-7990 or stop by our cemetery office for additional details.

Is this in regards to a plot in Section 4? If so, that is actually a 4 grave plot (up to 12 casket spaces) and the stonework specifications are as follows: 3' 4'' width, 2' 10'' height, 10'' thickness -- or -- 2' 3'' width, 4' height, 10'' thickness --or-- Cross 5' 6'' high overall, with dimensions of base in proportion. When working with a monument dealer, they will coordinate with our monument department to ensure the memorial meets the required specifications based on the plot size/section.
The standard time frame for crypt/niche inscriptions is 6 to 8 weeks.
Dogs are not permitted at the cemetery. The one exception to this rule is the use of service animals.
Cemetery offices are open Monday-Friday from 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM and on Saturday from 9:00 AM until 12 Noon.
8 am is for grounds and mausoleum visitation. The office opens at 9 am.
Community Mausoleums offer a number of options to meet the preferences and budgets of those families that prefer above ground entombment. The price of a mausoleum crypt can compare favorably with the total cost of ground burial. Cemetery of the Holy Rood, Holy Sepulchre Cemetery and Queen of All Saints Cemetery have community mausoleums. http://www.holyroodcemetery.org/files/50225149.pdf
The grave is a common area Saint Vincent de Paul section of the cemetery. Adjacent to section 12
