Everyone was very kind to me- they worked to get all paperwork done and I was very satisfied.

When my wife Diane passed away suddenly from a medical issue, after I had a few days of grief, I decided to get her cremated. I first called a local funeral home after looking at their website. The funeral director I was routed to seemed all business; the first thing he said was “are you shopping around?”, and then was almost disinterested in me. A good friend recommended A Basic Cremation. The original reason my friend recommended it was their charge to do a cremation is one of the most reasonable. What my friend didn’t know is they’re also very compassionate and understanding; everyone started the first interaction by saying “I’m sorry for your loss.” Pamela was very patient with me as I slowly gave them information they needed. Diane was cremated a little while ago, but Julie with my permission has sent me a text a few times since, asking how I’m doing or sending positive messages and helpful information. I think it was Monica who met me at their facility when I arrived to pick up the ashes; Monica was also compassionate. They did the transport of my wife to the hospital that performed an autopsy, and then back to their facility. A Basic Cremation made a tough time less painful, I definitely recommend them.

Teri would hardly communicate with me regarding my husband's undertaking. I am a 42 year old widow, that is hard enough, but my husband passed away two states away from where we live and I had to rely on the funeral home to communicate with me. They disappointed greatly in that regard and I also feel that I was intentionally lied to. I had to wait the weekend +2 days for an appointment to speak to Teri to make the cremation arrangement while he lay at the Morgue. When my appointment time came, no call. I waited an hour assuming that she was delayed. When I called, Teri blamed the receptionist for the error because "they don't work by appointment". Later, Teri would claim she couldn't get back to me because she had back to back "appointments" and was on the phone every time I called. Once my payment was taken, no communication. The day he was supposed to be cremated came and went and not even an email was sent. I wanted to know if it had been done and what day to expect him delivered. All of my messages went unreturned with the exception of one email which blamed Summit County for a delay in the cremation service and a promise to get a tracking number for the package mailed that day. I later confirmed with Summit Co. that their office was not involved and had they been communicated with, they could have immediately resolved the issue. I paid $150 to have the cremains mailed to me, and never got a tracking number! Teri promised to get me one in her single email to me, but never replied and wouldn't take or return my calls. I was a hostage afraid to leave my house for fear I would miss the delivery and my sweet husband would be left on the stoop for package thieves. He finally arrived unexpectedly and I was thankfully home, but my calls and email went completely unreturned from Teri. Not. One. Word. Still. Her lack of professionalism, honesty, and compassion considering the nature of her career are abhorrent and I absolutely recommend you look elsewhere during this difficult time as this business only compounded my sorrow.

Very professional and accommodating.

We paid $635.15 & that was for 3 extra death certs, no extra urn & we picked up ashes in denver
My understanding is that in the State of Colorado a cremation can't happen until the state coroner investigates and declares that the body wasn't purposely killed
